I finally, finally finished my thesis on Irish Catholic immigration.  Phew!  It was pretty much consuming my life, but now it is over.  I am a lot more knowledgable about Irish American history (and the history of Ireland to an extent) as well as my family history, which is awesome.  When my finals are done, I'll try to post the paper online.

It's a damn good paper, too. It certainly is very eye-opening, especially for a lot of people who claim they know everything that went down in the 18th and 19th centuries in America. Pretty shocking, if you ask me. You can see just how many efforts have been made to cover up the truth.

Thanks for your work, Catherine...I can't wait for everyone else to read it too.

Glad to hear that you are done.  They offer a course called Irish Influence on American Catholicism here at the seminary.  I hear that it is a good course.  God Bless and have a good Christmas break.
